With the objectives of institutional capacity building on springshed management in Sikkim, a hands-on Training of Trainers (TOT) on springshed management was organized under this program from 1 - 6 Dec, 2022 in Gangtok, Sikkim. The training was coordinated by State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Sikkim in collaboration with Rural Development Department (RDD), Forest & Environment Department, SDC, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and Advanced Center for Water Resources Development and Management (ACWADAM). Around 30 participants from Forest Department, MGNREGA Cell of RDD and Field Facilitators from SIRD participated in this training. The trainers from ACWADAM and ICIMOD imparted training to the participants which included two days of field learning. In the concluding session it was decided that Forest Department, RDD and SIRD need to work together as one team to ensure that Sikkim retains its position as a knowledge leader on springshed management.
